The hall was built in 1928 as a facility for men who had returned from the First World War. Over the years it has been extended and improved, and today serves as a local meeting place and venue for activities and events. It is operated as a charity and managed by a Trust. There is a Farmer's market on the 2nd Saturday of the month, and a Food Club with a programme of talks and events.
Salmesbury Memorial Hall is used by Spot On Rural Touring Network as a venue to make arts more accessible to rural communities. Their programme includes music, dance, theatre and children's shows. For more information visit their website
