Blackburn College was founded in 1888 and is currently in phase three of a £multi-million development. The college offers a range of courses, including a Sixth Form Centre for traditional A-Levels, vocational programme with options from child care to construction, and university campus status with links to Lancaster, Central Lancashire and Glamorgan universities. The college prides itself on welcoming students from all sectors of the community, with flexible study options and bursaries available. In 2008 Blackburn College received an 'Outstanding' grading from Ofsted.
