It's a winner for Burnley! We've teamed up with the Clarets to bring club and community closer03-08-2017
The Burnley Bus Company and Burnlkey FC are two of the biggest names in Burnley and Pendle – and now we're teaming up with to deliver a premier boost to the local community!
We recently launched our £4.4 million new fleet of buses onto the streets of East Lancashire, and we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to pledge our support to local people and projects in partnership with the Friends Of Burnley FC in the Community programme.
The new deal will see our bus drivers and office staff getting involved with a series of fundraising and community projects run by Burnley FC's official charity partner.
Our new buses for Mainline were launched in style at the “Big Burnley Bus Bash”, a day of family fun which drew thousands of visitors to our Queensgate Bus Depot on Sunday 23 July.
In the run-up to the big event, the gleaming new buses made their first outing to Turf Moor, home of Premier League Burnley FC, to star in an amazing photoshoot against the background of the Clarets' home ground.
And now, we've become the latest East Lancashire business to pledge £1,000 to the Friends of Burnley FC in the Community programme, which delivers sport, health education and social inclusion projects to over 35,000 people across the area.
Our General Manager, Steve Ottley said: “We're delighted to team up with the Clarets to build on the successful launch of our amazing new Mainline buses – together we aim to deliver real and lasting positive change for the people and places we serve right here in Burnley and Pendle.
“The reception for our new buses has been absolutely fantastic – many of our passengers have contacted us to say how much they love travelling on these wonderful new buses, which offer many unique features suggested by our customers through our groundbreaking 'Make My Mainline' customer research programme.
“We lined up some of our new Mainline buses at the Turf Moor stadium for an amazing set of photographs just before they began entering service. That's now led to a closer partnership between us and the football club – we've now become a a corporate partner with Burnley FC in the Community, and we're looking forward to our drivers and office staff getting involved hands-on with their fun and fundraising.
“As we look forward to the Clarets' new season in the Premier League, this is a winning partnership that's really going places.”
The partnership's also being welcomed by Burnley FC – the Turf Moor club's Business Development Executive Ryan Bradley said: “We're thrilled to welcome The Burnley Bus Company to join us as we work together to benefit the local community on our doorstep.
“The new Mainline buses look fantastic, and we were proud to be involved with their launch, by using our Turf Moor stadium as a backdrop for the launch photos, and then joining in the fun at the great Big Burnley Bus Bash event.
“It's great to see such a community minded business here in Burnley – all the staff volunteered their time for the Big Burnley Bus Bash, from the company's chief executive Alex Hornby driving buses to drivers handing out promotional leaflets for the new Mainline service.
“There was a really good feel to the day and the public turned out in huge numbers to support the event. It shows that companies who actively engage with the people they serve will get a positive response.
“We're really looking forward to working with The Burnley Bus Company as our two organisations team up for the people of Burnley and Pendle.”
